FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q1. WHY iS A P1 MATH PREPARATORY COURSE NECESSARY?
The curriculum of childcares and kindergartens usually focus on basic literacy and numeracy skills. Many children attend additional enrichment - phonics and Chinese lessons - to build a strong foundation in languages. Maths skills are often neglected.

Our P1 Preparatory Course aims to make children be confident in their ability to do Maths, which in turn increases their interest in the subject, leading to better results.
Q2. HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR USUAL BRAIN TRAINING PROGRAMME?
Our usual Experiential & Interactive Brain Training Programme is a 4-year programme starting from N1 to K2. It is more broad-based, rigorous and aimed at developing skills - logical thinking skills, spatial reasoning skills, deductive reasoning skills, listening and comprehension skills, life skills, problem-solving skills.

In the process of acquiring these skills, children are also exposed to concepts advanced for their age - number concepts, geometry concepts, spatial concepts as well as IQ-boosting questions typically seen in Math Olympiad and GEP selection tests. Children in our usual programme have the time advantage to build a stronger foundation and the skills required to excel later on in Maths, Science and English, not just in P1.

The Math with Confidence P1 Preparatory Course is a 6-month programme with a specific purpose - which is to give children a headstart in P1 maths. The curriculum is aligned to MOE Maths syllabus and is thus less broad-based than our Experiential & Interactive Brain Training Programme.

What is the same between both programmes is the use of interactive and fun hands-on activities which is proven to be most effective teaching method, interaction with experienced, qualified teachers,  and small class size. Given our small class size, teaching can be tailored to your child's needs. Children who are more proficient in Maths can be challenged to work on thinking questions which go beyond the P1 curriculum.

Enrol your child today and give him an early head start!
