KUNO method x SAFRA Punggol Exclusive

Consistent learning of skills and concepts during your child's formative years makes a real and lasting difference to your child's cognitive abilities.
Make use of this Circuit-Breaker time-out to let your child try out brain-boosting activities that they may not be exposed to in childcare and kindergartens.
As the most important and useful skills require continuous practice to master, we do these activities routinely in our experiential brain enrichment lessons at SAFRA Punggol.

More about corresponding skills for preschoolers...

You need a larger bag to hold more things and a smaller baby wears a smaller shirt. Many young children understand this concept of comparison. However, when we involve ordering in the comparison between two or more parties, young children are then required to think multiple steps.

They will need to first use logical reasoning to deduce who needs more and who needs less. After which, they will need to arrange the right objects to the subjects. Lastly, using sequencing order, they will have to rearrange the pairs according to the ascending or descending order.

With this small activity, develop your child's logical thinking abilities and help them to understand the relationship between two objects or more better.

Developing spatial ability with map navigation activities...

Spatial ability is the capacity to understand and remember the spatial relations among objects. This ability is a unique type of intelligence which is different from other forms of intelligence, such as verbal ability, reasoning ability, and memory skills.

Research has shown that exceptional spatial ability predicts creativity, innovative potential and academic achievements, especially in the STEM fields.

Spatial ability training is badly neglected in our schools. By giving it earlier and better emphasis, we can help more children unlock their potential.

About numerical reasoning skills...

Numerical reasoning skills include connecting numbers to quantities. At this age, it is crucial for preschoolers to develop number sense.

Number sense allows them to count forward and backwards, in order to learn the relationship between numbers.

Division and multiplication skills allow children to apply them into real life scenarios such as sharing a pie or handling money.

Concepts of division and multiplication are also introduced to set a foundation of mathematical problem-solving for preschoolers to succeed in Primary School.

Why puzzles...?

Puzzles are important for preschoolers as they help children develop
  • fine motor skills;
  • cognitive skills (visual-spatial skills, learn part-part-whole Math concept); and
  • emotional skills (like resilience, positive attitude).
When they work on puzzles, they also develop spatial ability.

Together, these skills enhances your child's problem-solving ability which can be applied not only in school, but in life.
